Senior Architectural Draftsperson, Full-Time-Permanent

 

The Firm is seeking a highly intelligent and very personable individual to assume the responsibility of a Senior Architectural Draftsperson.

 

The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable and skilled in producing Architectural Working Drawings, preferably having experience related to a wide variety of building types. The candidate must be proficient in REVIT to be considered. The responsibilities of the Senior Architectural Draftsperson will include but are not limited to:

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and maintain Program requirements

  • Identify, develop and maintain all Project constraints i.e. zoning, existing conditions, OBC restrictions

  • Prepare preliminary building layouts

  • Lead and Coordinate Project Teams independently or in support of more senior staff

  • Be involved at a high level to advise the design team on issues of constructability

  • OBC review

  • Coordination and overall integration of technical activities (ie. OBC analysis, drawings and specifications)

  • Material/product research and selection

  • Communication with Clients, Consultants, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, Contractors

  • Tender Administration

  • Preparation of Architectural working drawings (either independently or as part of a larger team)

  • Attend site meetings, prepare site reviews and reports, take minutes

  • Shop drawing review and circulation

  • Progress claim review/Certificates for Payment preparation and circulation

  • Response, preparation, and coordination of Project Communications such as RFI’s, CCO’s, CO, Directives, and Clarifications Post Construction

  • Coordination and/or preparation of as-built documentation and project close-out

  • Establish goals, deliverables and timelines for Team Members

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Clients, Contractors and Consultants

  • Supervise and direct junior and intermediate staff on the project

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering or College Diploma in Construction and Engineering Technology

  • 7-10 years relevant work experience is required for this position

  • Good knowledge of Ontario Building Code, standard construction practices

  • Computer skills in REVIT, AutoCAD 2010-2017, Microsoft Project, Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook

Architectural Project Manager: Full-Time-Permanent

 

The Firm is seeking an intelligent and personable individual to assume the responsibility of an Architectural Project Manager.

 

This role requires someone with strong skills in managing multiple projects at a time and ensuring schedule and quality control over them. The successful candidate will also be responsible for leadership and direction of the ABA technical staff, as well as for document review and consultant coordination. The ideal candidate will have broad skills and experience in all phases of project delivery. Strong, hands-on technical knowledge and experience in field review and contract administration and the building permit process are essential requirements. The responsibilities of the Architectural Project Manager will include but are not limited to:

 

Responsibilities

  • Review project requirements including financial and schedule; budgets/schedule accordingly

  • Drawing and Specification coordination and /or preparation

  • Coordination and overall integration of technical activities (i.e. OBC analysis, drawings and specifications)

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Clients, Contractors, Consultants, Authorities Having Jurisdiction

  • Shop drawing review and circulation

  • Liaise with the Financial Administrator

  • Material/product research and selection

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering or College Diploma in Construction and Engineering Technology

  • 6 years relevant work experience is required for this position
