Intermediate Architectural Draftsperson

Our Firm is seeking a highly intelligent and very personable individual to assume the responsibility of an Intermediate Architectural Draftsperson. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable and skilled in producing Architectural Working Drawings, preferably having experience related to a wide variety of building types. The candidate must be proficient in REVIT to be considered. The responsibilities of the Intermediate Architectural Draftsperson will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify Program requirements
  • Identify all Project constraints ie. Zoning, existing conditions, OBC restrictions
  • Prepare preliminary building layouts
  • Attend Meetings, record and prepare meeting minutes
  • Preparation of Architectural design drawings
  • OBC review
  • Coordination with all consultants
  • Prepare presentation material
  • Attend meetings, record and prepare meeting minutes
  • Preparation of Architectural working drawings (either independently or as part of a larger team)
  • OBC review
  • Coordination with all consultants
  • Tender Administration
  • As directed by PC/PM on file - attend site meetings, prepare site reviews and reports, take minutes
  • Shop drawing review and circulation
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Clients, Contractors and Consultants
  • Report to PC or PM throughout the Project
  • Liaise with Site planning and coordinates with senior staff on the file
  • Maintain project file to ABA Standards
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering or College Diploma in Construction and Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 3 years relevant work experience is required for this position
  • Good knowledge of Ontario Building Code, standard construction practices
  • Computer skills in REVIT, AutoCAD 2010-2016, Microsoft Project, Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Sketch-up, Photoshop

Intern Architect

Our Firm is seeking an intelligent and personable individual to assume the responsibility of an Intern Architect. The Intern Architect is a role focused on preparing architectural designs and documents for a wide variety of building types. The Intern Architect must deal with a number of projects at any given time. As each project is unique, the Intern Architect must possess strong organizational skills to deal with differing scopes and schedules at the same time. The responsibilities of the Intern Architect will include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the Client to establish terms of reference, initiate programmatic and schematic design
  • Work with Site planners to determine all project site plan related constraints
  • Development of conceptual architectural plans and diagrams via commencement of the project design brief template
  • Responsible for the presentation graphics for presentations, 3D renderings, sketches etc
  • Prepare preliminary building layouts
  • Preparation of architectural working drawings (either independently or as part of a larger team)
  • Review of construction drawings to ensure design integrity
  • Drawing and Specification coordination and /or preparation
  • Attend site meetings, prepare site reviews and reports, take minutes
  • Shop drawing review and circulation under supervision of the Project Architect or Project Manager
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Clients, Contractors, Consultants, Authorities Having Jurisdiction
  • Site reviews

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Architecture
  • Registered in good standing with the OAA as an Intern Architect
  • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience is required for this position
  • Good knowledge of Ontario Building Code, standard construction practices
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD 2010-2017, Microsoft Project, Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook

Part-Time Book Keeper/Receptionist

Monday to Friday-8:30am –12:30pm
The ideal candidate has a solid accounting background, preferably in a construction/professional services environment. Your job will be to support the full-time book keeper in their book keeping and receptionist functions for the company which will include but are not limited to:

Bookkeeping

  • Check and verify source documents such as invoices and receipts to generate monthly progress reports
  • Allocate and post financial transaction details to accounting software
  • Transfer financial data from Bill Quick to QuickBooks
  • Maintain internal coding system for tracking incoming financial documents
  • Manage accounts receivable
  • Verify discrepancies and resolve clients’ billing issues
  • Prepare financial reports as requested by clients and partners.
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners.
  • Assist with audits
  • Prepare bills and invoices
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients

Reception

  • Greet and welcome visitors
  • Answer all incoming calls, redirect them or keep messages
  • Manage Boardrooms
  • Receive letters, packages etc. and distribute them
  • Prepare outgoing mail by drafting correspondence, securing parcels etc.
  • Perform clerical/administrative functions

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3 years of experience working in A/P, A/R and general ledger
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, QuickBooks and Bill Quick
  • Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
  • Customer Service orientation
  • Bookkeeping certification or diploma

Desired Skills:

  • A details-oriented person who can make sure the books are impeccable
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency with accounting system, preferably Quickbooks and BillQuick
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
