Senior Architectural Draftsperson – Full-Time – Permanent

The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable and skilled in producing Architectural Working Drawings, preferably having experience related to a wide variety of building types. The responsibilities of the Senior Architectural Draftsperson will include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and maintain Program requirements
  • Identify, develop and maintain all Project constraints i.e. Zoning, existing conditions, OBC restrictions
  • Prepare preliminary building layouts
  • Lead and Coordinate Project Teams independently or in support of more senior staff
  • Be involved at a high level to advise the design team on issues of constructability
  • OBC review
  • Coordination and overall integration of technical activities (ie. OBC analysis, drawings and specifications)
  • Material/product research and selection
  • Communication with Clients, consultants, Authorities Having Jurisdiction, Contractor
  • Tender Administration
  • Preparation of Architectural working drawings (either independently or as part of a larger team)
  • Attend site meetings, prepare site reviews and reports, take minutes
  • Shop drawing review and circulation
  • Progress claim review/Certificates for Payment preparation and circulation
  • Response, preparation, and coordination's of Project Communications such as RFI's, CCO's, CO, Directives, and Clarifications Post Construction
  • Coordination and/or preparation of as-built documentation and project close-out
  • Establish goals, deliverables and timelines for Team Members
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with Contractors and Consultants
  • Supervise and direct junior and intermediate staff on the project

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering or College Diploma in Construction and Engineering Technology
  • 7-10 years relevant work experience is required for this position
  • Good knowledge of Ontario Building Code, and standard construction practices
  • Computer skills in AutoCAD 2010-2017, REVIT 2017, Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook

Site Planner, Full-Time/Permanent

The Firm is seeking a highly intelligent and very personable individual to assume the responsibility of our Site Planner.

The ideal candidate will be expected to lead an advanced design process, including research, analysis, programming, preparation of design documents, presentation materials, reports and participation in public processes and presentations. The responsibilities of the Site Planner will include but are not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions and strategies for a range of projects encompassing residential, mixed use, commercial and industrial projects
  • Develop projects from feasibility through concept and sketch design to Final Site Plan approval drawing and documentation
  • Evaluates and integrates policy requirements and infrastructure systems and align these with project requirements
  • Lead project related public discussions and presentations;
  • Conducts field observations to monitor progress plan implementation, including coordination with client to insure planning process is implemented successfully
  • Project Manage Master planning and Site Planning projects for medium and large sized residential, mixed use, commercial and industrial projects

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering, College Diploma in Construction and Engineering Technology or a Degree in Urban Planning
  • Minimum 3 years of related work experience
  • Good knowledge of Ontario Building Code, standard construction practices, fundamentals of site design
  • Familiar with Site Plan Approval Processes for local Municipalities
  • Computer skills in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project and AutoTURN
  • Multi-tasker, able to handle many files at a time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patient; able to deal with pressure and stressful situations
  • Good people skills, good teacher and willingness to impart knowledge
  • Willing to take responsibility/accountability of projects
