Conestoga College
3065 King
LOCATION Kitchener, ON
PROJECT TYPE Institutional, Office, Interiors
COMPLETION DATE 2022
Conestoga College faculty and staff are located across the region in a variety of off campus buildings owned and operated by the College. This 25,000 sq ft site was originally built in the 1980’s with an extension completed by our ABA team in 2007.
The College has adopted a flex-work program for staff and faculty in all of their locations that emphasizes an agile, collaborative and creative work environment. The interior has been designed to support this and to provide a warm, bright and inviting space for staff to transition back from their homes into life at the office. Staff have the flexibility to
choose the ideal setting for the type of work they are doing throughout the day from a variety of workstyle options. Height adjustable desks, assigned + unassigned workstations, bookable enclaves for video calls + focus work, and social lounge + cafe settings make up the work environment. A neutral colour palette, textural greenery, warm wood finishes, and playful graphics create a balanced and fresh aesthetic. Features like the skylit lunchroom, plenty of plant life, views to the outdoors, and a cyclorama/recording studio round out the amenities and contribute to the design features offered throughout the rest of the space.
