project

Courtice Commons

LOCATION   Clarington, ON

PROJECT TYPE   Mixed-Use, Site Planning

COMPLETION DATE   Ongoing

This mixed-use development, located at the Southeast corner of Trulls Road and Highway 2, contributes to a strong identity being established in Courtice by promoting a mixed-use, transit-oriented corridor within the Urban Centre. The plaza will serve Courtice residents with the addition of over 96,000 sq. ft of commercial space, including restaurants and retail, while also supporting a six-storey, 90-unit mixed-use building. Elevated traffic due to the development is accommodated with widened lanes and two

additional bus stops, encouraging the use of public transportation. A variety of building materials and finishes are used across the project, elevating the architecture and contributing to the positive image of the Main Street. Pedestrian nodes are framed by buildings, creating gateway conditions to the plaza and enjoyable space for community members. The Urban Centre is envisioned to be the focal point of community activity.
