Garment Street Condos

LOCATION  Kitchener, ON

PROJECT TYPE   Mixed-Use, Master Planning

COMPLETION DATE  Ongoing

Garment Street Condos is a three-tower residential development in Downtown Kitchener. The development features an internal road named “Garment Street,” as a tribute to the traditions of industry on the site. The concept pulls together the residential development and a heritage building called “Glove Box” (converted to an office by Edge Architects) to create a cohesive urban experience. Interconnected parking structures

allow for a unique shared bicycle and vehicle parking approach. The Garment Street Condos was the first project where the City and ABA worked together collaboratively and in conjunction with the draft Tall Buildings Guidelines. Throughout the process ABA worked closely with the City to evaluate their tower separation impacts and podium design requirements.
