Trio is a unique grouping of three rental apartment buildings in Kitchener’s vibrant Belmont Village neighbourhood. With buildings ranging from 8 to 14 storeys in height, the development offers 412 suites. Each building includes two landscaped rooftop terraces, an outdoor kitchen, adjacent amenity room and distinctive double-height balcony treatment, its most iconic and distinguishing architectural feature.
These pre-cast concrete buildings us a perimeter-bearing alignment structure. Structural walls are aligned parallel to the length of the building slabs and to the exterior, as well as one interior corridor wall. Great care has been taken to optimize window openings without compromising bearing capacity of the exterior walls. The double-height staggered balconies are an integral part of the daylighting strategy, resulting in a grouping of white shadow boxes that project from the buildings’ façades.
